From humble beginnings to a movement that empowers farmers
The Beginning
During the COVID-19 crisis, a group of socially conscious youth from Dharmapuri came together to support struggling farmers and unemployed youth. This initiative led to the birth of Marutham Agro Farmers Producer Company Ltd, formed across 10 Panchayats with 432 shareholders, uniting communities to create sustainable livelihoods through local crop utilization.
Farmer Onboarding & Empowerment
With guidance and collective effort, Marutham began onboarding farmers, empowering them with fair pricing and skill-based employment opportunities. The company focused on reducing intermediaries, ensuring that every farmer received the value they deserved while promoting organic and sustainable farming practices across Tamil Nadu.
Factory Setup & Brand Building
A major milestone was achieved as Marutham established its processing unit, transforming locally grown produce into pure, natural sauces, jams, and vinegar. With its first product line launched, the brand began gaining recognition for its authentic taste, farm-fresh ingredients, and social purpose, marking the start of its identity as a rural empowerment brand.
Scaling Up & Recognition
As word spread, Marutham became a trusted name among conscious consumers and retailers. The company expanded operations, connecting rural farming communities to urban households through ethical sourcing and sustainable production. Marutham stood out as a model for how agriculture, entrepreneurship, and social impact can work hand in hand.
